In the School of Electrical Engineering, there are 49 full-time professors, 4 adjunct professors, 7 emeritus professors, and 1800 graduate and 6000 undergraduate students. Also there are more than 5000 alumni, many of whom have become the unmatched engineers and executives in large corporations, and distinguished researchers and faculty members of prestigious universities and research centers.
The school takes pride in its high national rankings and the international recognition which its faculty members have received from outside. Nationally, our school consistently was ranked as the best ECE department by Korea Educational Evaluation Board from 1992 to 2003, ranked best EE department by Joong-Ang Daily newspaper in 2001, and awarded 6-year BK21 funding for advanced research and education in EE graduate program in 2006.
The teaching and research capability go beyond the boundaries of the textbooks, lectures, and experimentation. Graduate students are among the most brilliant and promising engineering students in the nation, and have received remarkable education from dedicated faculty members. Research areas include from nano-level device research, to large-scale networks, to electric power control, and faculty therein have published 14.18 SCI journals per member in last 3 years.
Undergraduates have received an excellent engineering education in the core areas of fundamental mathematics, engineering science, and technical leadership skills. They also enjoy cutting-edge research atmosphere.
